In Memoriam:  David William Gillen

It is with considerable sadness that I have to report that the Delta Economics Group has lost one of our valued senior consultants.  David Gillen, who passed away on October 31, 2024, was a core member of the DEG family and a terrific friend to many of us.  David was a globally recognized expert in transportation economics with particular expertise related to the air and rail sectors.  Beyond even his extensive publication record and many reports prepared for legal and regulatory proceedings, he was an outstanding teacher and leader for his field, contributing to the organization of many transportation conferences and editing several important journals.  But, beyond all of this, David was a wonderful human being – a mentor to many, friend to even more and as kind as a person can be.  He will be missed by all of us at DEG, and by so many others around the world.
